Alternative Treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy-Agent Orange-Vitamin B-12 UK--Progress Report

This is part TWO to my first article. I only think it fair that I update people about the potential of an alternative treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy, the prospects of Methycobalimin, vitamin b12 supplements UK, being a cure or help in some way.

This is part TWO to my first article. It is an update. This article will probably have a part three and four and maybe even five. I have a lot of feelings about it all. I only think it fair that I update people about the potential of an alternative treatment for Peripheral Neuropathy, the prospects of Methycobalimin, vitamin b12 supplements uk, being a cure or help in some way. I want to include any reader interested in the steps and the potentials of this alternative treatment. I also want to include in all of this, future articles and thoughts for the caretaker, me in this instance as an example. There are thoughts about this journey, other viewpoints that I will share in time. Keep in mind that I am not a doctor. I am only writing as a lay person, an observer of what feels to be fate in many ways, yet a fighter against harm and acceptance of its outcome.

This article is progress report of my husband Dennis, (Denny, I have always called him.)

Just a little background about us.

We are actually high school sweat hearts. We were separated by the facts of Viet Nam and life in general, who knows really. In any case I always dreamed and wrote poems and songs about him, missed him, and he did of me as well, for all those years separated.

I found Denny after 27 years through a fluke of fate. I listed all the area codes in California where I felt he must be. I was on my third day finishing up the long list of numbers.

I dialed what I thought was 818, and said to the operator, "Give me the listing for any Dennis Magnusen in 818."

The operator replied, "Well, this isn't 818, this is 808, you have reached Hawaii."

"OK then", I said, "Give me that."

I called the number and it was him.

It is a very romantic story except for the fact that a demon lives in our home called Peripheral Neuropathy. It set its sites on Denny as he bathed in the Mekong Delta on a daily basis for the nine months he was in Viet Nam.

Peripheral Neuropathy is not considered to be 'Service Connected' within the VA. This means that the Government denies any claims of responsibility. When Clinton was in office, because of the efforts of Sen. John Kerry, there was a short period of time where it was. The floodgates must have opened wide because they took it back, unless a victim had reported it within the first year after leaving Viet Nam. This could be a whole other article, but I will say this, that back then people were spitting on soldiers returning from Viet Nam, so noticing some tingling? They all just tried to pretend it never happened, not Viet Nam and not any nightmares in the closet that might one day raise their heads in the form of Peripheral Neuropathy.

Back to today, an honest assessment of the progress of high doses of Methycobalimin (a form of vitamin B) in the treatment or hope for reversing the effects of Peripheral Neuropathy. Again, I would suggest you read my other article for what led to this point if you are interested in this subject.

We obtained the script about two weeks ago now. We have a couple of nurse friends who came over to show Denny how to give himself an injection. I am his angel but I guess not as brave a one that he needs, for poking needles in him. Denny has been dealing with the pain that comes with this monster for a long time now. He is down to 132 pound on his 6 '2 1/2" frame. I add this because his is an extreme case, that has progressed in his symptoms to the point where he is almost completely bed ridden and this treatment is hugely important to us. I also think it makes a valid test. If it helps him in any way at all it is worthy of more research.

The injections are 25mg.cc, injected daily. The cost about $60. plus overnight shipping in a cold pac plus the cost of needles. We used College Pharmacy which can be found online.

You can just imagine with the first injection, I watched Denny with hope and kept waiting for him to fly, or something... anything. I have to say though that he did not fly that day and has not since. Has he felt any effects from it at all? Yes, yes he has. His legs are not twitching and tingling as much. Unfortunately though Peripheral Neuropathy is progressive and cruel. A few days prior to starting the injections Denny was hit with a progressive symptom. His feet feel completely numb to him now and the pain in general stepped up as well. So now we have a real test on our hands. Will it make a difference? I still just don't know. It is hard to measure at this point, I only know that he has less tingling and seems to be kicking around less.

Last night I went online and refreshed my memory about Peripheral Neuropathy. It helped me a lot. I of course have studied it before but not for a long time. It helped be regain sympathy for its victim. As a caretaker one becomes numb, angry, tearful, on and on. Knowledge is key to understanding. I feel much better today and am spending my time focusing on potential rather than failure. What else it there to do?

I will post another update, if you are following this, in about 2 weeks, when the first script runs out. I just felt today that I needed to include anyone who might be traveling a similar road as Denny and my journey.

Stay well and if you are healthy? OH! Cherish that.
